There is a global shortage of protein. Traditional sources are unlikely to meet global demand without considerable pressure on agricultural land and damage to ecosystems. So there is an urgent need to increase the supply of protein from sustainable sources. Insects can play a key role in meeting the growing demand for sustainable protein worldwide.
Insects are extremely healthy food, full of proteins. The production of insects is also very efficient. For example, it only requires 40% of the energy that is needed to produce other kinds of proteins.
But what kind of insects can you eat and what do they taste like? What is their nutritional value? Is their production indeed much more sustainable than that of meat? Bas Godschalk of Insectsforall answers these questions (and any others you may have) in a presentation during which you will get an opportunity to taste four types of insects yourself.
You can use the form on the right to get in contact with Bas.
